How do I change my password?

Change your password whenever you need to. Here's how:

To change your password using online banking

  1. Select Profile & settings, then Manage profile & settings
  2. Select Edit login preferences, then choose Edit to the right of "Password".
  3. Provide your current password. Then enter a new password and re-enter it once more. 
  4. When complete, select Update password

To change your password using the U.S. Bank Mobile App

  1. Open the main menu, select Security center.
  2. Select Update password, then choose Change password.
  3. Provide your current password. Then enter a new password and re-enter it once more.
  4. When complete, select Update password.

To ensure your information is secure, these minimum requirements need to be met:

  • It's 8-24 characters in length.
  • Include both letters and numbers.
  • No spaces.
  • May include special characters such as "%, $, &".  
  • Do not include "!" or "?".

You may receive an error message if one of the following occurs:

  • You're trying to re-use a password.
  • Three identical characters or numbers are listed in a row.
  • Using your username or the word "Password".
